Sakeena Itoo visits Budgam victim’s family, expresses solidarity

Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo on Sunday visited the bereaved family in Budgam to express solidarity and offer condolences following the tragic incident involving the death of a minor girl, which has deeply shocked the entire region.
During her visit, the Minister interacted with the grieving family members and conveyed profound sorrow over the unfortunate incident. She assured the family that the government stands firmly with them during this difficult period and every possible effort would be made to ensure justice for the victim. The visit reflected the administration’s concern and commitment towards addressing the incident with seriousness and sensitivity. Sakeena Itoo strongly condemned the brutal incident and termed it highly unfortunate and unacceptable in a civilized society. She said that crimes against innocent children are deeply disturbing and must be dealt with firmly and without delay. Expressing anguish over the tragedy, the Minister stated that such incidents not only cause immense pain to the affected families but also shake the conscience of society as a whole. The Minister emphasized that the safety and security of children must remain a top priority and there should be no tolerance for crimes of such nature. She stated that society collectively needs to work towards creating a safer environment where children can live without fear and families can feel secure about their well-being.
Calling for a time-bound investigation into the matter, Sakeena Itoo directed that all aspects related to the incident be examined thoroughly so that the truth is established at the earliest. She stressed that the investigation should proceed swiftly and transparently to ensure accountability and justice. She further stated that those found involved in the crime must be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law and exemplary punishment should be awarded to the culprits.
The Minister also assured that the administration would extend all necessary support to the investigating agencies to facilitate a fair and effective inquiry. She reiterated that the government remains committed to ensuring that justice is delivered and no guilty person escapes legal action.
