Jammu, October 26: Amway India has announced plans to expand its physical presence across key markets in the country as part of its long-term growth strategy, aimed at strengthening consumer engagement and providing distributors with enhanced opportunities to develop their businesses.
Marking the next phase of expansion, Amway Global President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Nelson inaugurated the company’s new store in Gurugram during his official visit to the city. The expansion builds on the Rs 100 crore investment announced by Nelson last year for several initiatives, including strengthening the company’s physical presence across India.
The new store is designed as an experience centre where consumers can explore the company’s product portfolio and learn more about its health and wellbeing solutions. It will also provide distributors with a dedicated platform to interact with customers, develop stronger relationships and build local communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Nelson said India remained central to Amway’s global growth strategy, particularly as Indian consumers increasingly sought trusted, science-backed health and wellbeing solutions, personalised experiences and greater convenience.
He said the company’s modern engagement centres were intended to bring together product discovery, meaningful conversations and community engagement, enabling distributors to respond more effectively to changing consumer needs. The Gurugram inauguration, he added, reflected Amway’s long-term confidence in the Indian market and its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and improving consumer experiences.
Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director of Amway India, said physical stores played an important role in enhancing the experience of both consumers and distributors. He emphasised that the facilities were not conventional retail outlets but engagement hubs designed to encourage direct interaction, product awareness and community building.
According to the company, Amway India currently operates more than 85 stores nationwide and has accelerated its retail transformation in recent months. It has opened or revamped more than 14 stores across key markets, including Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Imphal, Bhagalpur, Anand, Ahmedabad, Bongaigaon, Agra and Nanded. The expansion reflects the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in metropolitan areas as well as tier-two and tier-three markets.
Looking ahead, Amway India plans to open or renovate several more stores over the next three to four years, extending its reach across additional locations.
As the company approaches three decades of operations in India, it said its strategy would continue to focus on strengthening the direct-selling ecosystem, encouraging responsible entrepreneurship and building consumer trust. It also highlighted its commitment to applicable laws, regulatory requirements and improved governance practices.
The company said its engagement centres would support transparent product discovery, consumer education and interaction between distributors and customers. Through these initiatives, Amway aims to contribute to healthier communities, economic empowerment and India’s broader development aspirations while building sustainable growth over the coming decades.
