DC Bandipora visits Nyle, Bagtore; Reviews public issues, Assesses Developmental needs

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today visited Nyle and Bagtore areas of Sub-Division Gurez to assess developmental needs and review public service delivery.
At Nyle, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed key issues projected by the residents, including the non-functional food grain store. The need for construction and repair of a retention wall was also highlighted. Issues related to plantation were discussed, and the Deputy Commissioner assured that necessary surveys would be conducted shortly, followed by plantation drives in the identified areas. She also reviewed electricity supply in the area and directed the concerned department to expedite works under RDSS. Road connectivity and mobile network issues were also raised, with directions issued for appropriate action under relevant schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner assessed issues pertaining to Grishat Nallah and directed the concerned departments to examine the requirements for necessary mitigation measures. The demand for public amenities, including parks, was also noted. At Izmarg, the issue of non-availability of ATM services due to network constraints was discussed. The Deputy Commissioner directed exploration of alternative arrangements, including Business Correspondent services and mobile banking facilities. The demand for strengthening fire response mechanisms was also raised, to which the Deputy Commissioner stated that portable fire safety equipment would be provided at multiple locations as an interim measure.
In the health and education sector, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of institutions and noted the need for upgradation of health facilities and addressing staff shortages.

Transport and connectivity issues were also discussed during the visit.
The residents appreciated the Deputy Commissioner for ensuring the smooth movement on the Gurez–Bandipora road. The DC assured that all genuine issues raised during the visit would be addressed in a phased and time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora was accompanied by PO ICDS Bandipora, SDM Gurez, ACP, CMO and other concerned officers during the visit.
