Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo today felicitated meritorious students who secured top positions in the Class 12 examinations during the ‘Mega Shining Star’ ceremony held at Government Degree College Kulgam. The event was organised by the Directorate of School Education Kashmir in collaboration with CT University Ludhiana and the host college.
The appearance witnessed the participation of students, teachers, parents and officials, all gathered to celebrate academic excellence and acknowledge the hard work of young achievers. Addressing the gathering, the Minister congratulated the toppers for their dedication, perseverance and commitment to excellence. She stated that their achievements reflect not only individual effort but also the collective support of teachers and families who played a vital role throughout their academic journey. Sakeena Itoo emphasized that students and youth are the true architects of the future of Jammu and Kashmir. She remarked that their success stories symbolize hope, progress and the transformative power of education in society. According to her, such accomplishments serve as an inspiration for other students to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.
Highlighting the government’s commitment towards strengthening the education sector, the Minister said that several initiatives are underway to improve infrastructure, expand digital learning facilities and ensure equal access to quality education across both urban and rural areas. She noted that providing quality education remains a top priority of the government, as it forms the foundation for sustainable development and social empowerment in the region. The Minister also appreciated the crucial role played by teachers in shaping the future of students. She acknowledged their dedication and consistent efforts in nurturing talent despite various challenges. She reiterated that educators remain at the core of building a knowledgeable, skilled and progressive society.
Sakeena Itoo further highlighted that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are excelling in diverse fields such as medical sciences, civil services, engineering and other professional domains. She expressed confidence that with continued guidance and support, students from the region will continue to achieve new milestones at national and international levels.
During her interaction with the students, the Minister encouraged them to set ambitious goals and work diligently to achieve them. She assured them of continued government support through scholarships, skill development programmes and career guidance initiatives aimed at empowering youth and enhancing their employability. She also urged students to embrace innovation, critical thinking and social responsibility as guiding principles in their personal and professional lives.
The event also saw the presence of key officials, including Naseer Ahmad Wani, Sheikh Aijaz Bashir and senior officers of the district administration. Representatives from CT University Ludhiana, faculty members, parents and a large number of students attended the ??????, making it a significant occasion celebrating academic success and educational progress.
The ‘Mega Shining Star’ ceremony not only recognized the achievements of meritorious students but also reinforced the importance of education as a powerful tool for societal transformation and individual growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
