An impressive procession on the 10 day of moharram was taken out from peer mitha to commemorate the Martyrdom of Imam Hussain a.s and his 72 companions under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu.
A brief majlis to highlight the importance of Ashura was delivered by Molana Ali AsgarHaideryFrom Mumbai.Mourners from different reagions have participated to pay homage to martyrs of Karbala.
After passing through the traditional route the procession culminated at Karbala complex Wazarat road where majlis Sham-e-Ghariban was also delivered byMoulana Ali AsgarHaidery.
A procession was also taken out from New Plots by Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plot under the patronage of Abdul Sameer Qureshi and merged with the main procession at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha.
A shabiheyzuljinah was also taken out and thousands of mourners and devotees from other religions attended the procession to take blessings.
President Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu Syed AmanatShahwhile addressing media Said that on this day Imam Hussain (a.s) and his 72 companions laid their lives for the sake of ISLAM and stood firmlyagainst the tyranny of Yazid, the ruler and Caliph of Muslim Ummah at that time.
Prof.Sujat Khan General Secretary Anjumanadded that we should never forget that for what purpose Imam Hussain(a.s) sacrificed himself and his family. The day of ASHURA is a message that we should stand for the sake of oppressed and raise our voices against the oppressor.
SohailKazmiWakaf Board Member And Senior Journalist Addressing media said that it is our duty to spread the message of Imam Hussain (a.s).
All the proceedings of 10 days of moharram were conducted by Syed Ayaz Hussain Naqvi.
