Bari Brahmana: Dogra Degree College, in collaboration with ICT Academy under the CSR initiative of INFOSYS Foundation, successfully organized the Certificate Distribution Ceremony here today. The event marked the formal conclusion of the 15-day training programme on “Premier Banker,” which ran from 27th August to 12th September 2024, as part of the “Finishing School for Employability” initiative.
The training programme aimed to enhance the technical and professional skills of students and faculty members, empowering them for personal and career growth. This intensive 100-hour course comprised 20 hours of Soft Skills Training and 80 hours of Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) training. Daily sessions of seven hours provided participants with valuable insights and techniques for their professional development. Esteemed trainers from ICT Academy—Ms. Zenab, Ms. Poonam, and Mr. Aadil—conducted the sessions, ensuring an engaging learning experience.
The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Ravinder Kumar, ICT Coordinator at Dogra Degree College, who introduced the ceremony and set the tone for the day. This was followed by the symbolic Lighting of the Lamp and a Sapling Presentation, representing growth and sustainability.
Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal of Dogra Degree College, delivered the Welcome Address. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the ICT Academy and Infosys Foundation for their continuous support in fostering a learning environment that bridges the gap between academia and industry.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman of Dogra Educational Trust, who applauded the college for organizing the training and expressed satisfaction with its successful execution. Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary of DET, emphasized the importance of education and training in advancing the banking sector. He commended the ICT team at Dogra Degree College for their dedication to organizing such impactful programmes. Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs at Dogra Educational Trust, also appreciated the college’s efforts and encouraged the continuation of such training initiatives on campus. He motivated the students to actively engage in these opportunities.Mr. Rakesh Mohan Koul, HOD, UG Management & B.Com, and Mr. Balwant Singh, HOD, BA Department, also graced the occasion, adding to the significance of the event.
The event featured an insightful presentation by Mr. Ravinder Kumar, summarizing the objectives and impact of the training programme. This was followed by a detailed report by Ms. AmarpreetKour, who outlined the curriculum and outcomes achieved during the 15-day course.
Several distinguished speakers graced the occasion, sharing their expertise included AjazYousof, Relationship Manager at ICT Academy, praised the participants for their dedication.
Lovetesh Kumar, Senior Manager at JK ICT Academy, emphasized the importance of lifelong learning in the banking industry.
Basavadarshan GN, Senior Program Manager MongoDB, highlighted the role of skill training among the students. G. Saravanan, Associate Vice President at ICT Academy, highlighted the role of training in shaping the future of banking. Srikanth Venkatraman, CEO of ICT Academy, delivered an inspiring address on the significance of quality training in a competitive landscape.
In a gesture of appreciation and gratitude, the college also presented a mementos to the visiting delegates from ICT Academy. The occasion witnessed an atmosphere of pride and inspiration, as students were encouraged to leverage their skills for future career growth.The Vote of Thanks, delivered by Mr. Ravinder Kumar, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and supporters who made the programme a success.
The event concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph to commemorate the achievements.
