Sunil Verma, District President of J&K National Conference, Udhampur, expressed disappointment over the recently presented Interim Budget, stating that it failed to meet the expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today, the senior NC leader said, “The people of the Union Territory had high hopes from the Interim Budget, but unfortunately, it has disappointed them. As anticipated, there was minimal focus on addressing issues such as price inflation, price rise, or job creations. Consequently, there was a palpable lack of substantial measures in the budget that would bring relief to the common man or the economically disadvantaged.
The persistent high levels of price rise and unprecedented joblessness in the country have not been adequately addressed.”
He further remarked, “The Budget appears to be skewed towards pro-industrialist and affluent segments, neglecting the vital sectors of agriculture and horticulture. It is disheartening to witness the apparent oversight of critical aspects that directly impact the poor and common masses. Instead, it seems tailored to benefit a specific section of businessmen, thus raising concerns about its inclusivity and equitable distribution of benefits.”
The senior NC leader emphasized the need for a budget that caters to the broader spectrum of society, particularly prioritizing sectors that contribute significantly to the livelihoods of the common people.
Meanwhile, Sunil Verma appointed as Mishamber Dass as Senior Vice President of Block Committee, JKNC , Udhampur.
He congratulated Mishamber Dass and hoped that he will work for strengthening the base of the party. He said that National Conference is committed to work tirelessly towards the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir and looks forward to the continued support and collaboration of the community in achieving these shared goals.
