Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla; Contraband substances recovered

In its unwavering commitment to combat the scourge of drugs within society, the Police have achieved another milestone by apprehending a drug peddler in Baramulla and successfully recovering contraband substances from his possession. The diligent efforts of the police force, particularly the team from Police Station Baramulla led by the Station House Officer (SHO) PS Baramulla, bore fruit during a checkpoint operation at Kralhar Baramulla.
The police intercepted an individual during the checkpoint operation, later identified as Syed Asif Hussain, son of Syed Sabir Hussain and a resident of Kamalkote Uri. Upon conducting a thorough search, the law enforcement team discovered 1.5 kilograms of contraband Poppy Straw-like substances in his possession. Syed Asif Hussain was promptly arrested and subsequently shifted to PS Baramulla, where he remains in custody.
The authorities have initiated legal proceedings against the accused, with a case registered under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Baramulla. Investigations into the matter have been launched to uncover any potential links and networks associated with this drug peddler.
Law enforcement agencies are urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in the fight against drug-related crimes.
