Three drug peddlers arrested with cannabis, cocaine

JAMMU: Kanachack, Domana and Batote Police arrested three drug peddlers along with cannabis and cocaine. As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by ASI Sham Lal laid a naka at Double Pull and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CE-1207.

During checking, police team recovered 105 grams cannabis from the possession of the rider and arrested him. The arrested person was identified as Nitin Sharma, son of Janak Raj, a resident of Domana District Jammu. A case under FIR Number 81/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started. Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Domana led by PSI Younis Khanday during patrolling in Patoli-Barnai road apprehended a drug peddler along with 11.19 grams of high grade cocaine. The arrested person was identified as Mandeep Singh Chib, son of Pardeep Singh Chib of Barnai District Jammu. A case under FIR Number 157/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.

The arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Inspector Vishav Partap Singh, SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. However, a team from Police Station Batote led by SHO Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao laid a naka at Bandhera on Chakwa Road and apprehended a man along with 243 grams of cannabis. The arrested person was identified as Amit Sharma, son of Bishan Dass of Shallan, Tehsil Ramkot, District Kathua.

A case under FIR Number 63/2021 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Batote and investigation taken up.
