Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur, in collaboration with Diva International Foundation, organized a Mega Multi-Specialty Health and Cancer Awareness Camp at the institute premises on Saturday with the aim of promoting preventive healthcare and providing free medical services to police trainees, staff members, and their families.
The one-day camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of beneficiaries who availed themselves of free medical consultations, diagnostic services, medicines, and awareness sessions conducted by a team of experienced doctors and healthcare professionals. The initiative was designed to create awareness about lifestyle diseases, preventive healthcare, and the importance of early detection of cancer.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal of PTTI Vijaypur, in the presence of S. Amardeep Singh Sasan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Diva International Foundation, along with senior police officers, faculty members, and representatives of the NGO.
A team of around 30 senior doctors, medical specialists, and paramedical staff from reputed hospitals and healthcare institutions participated in the camp and offered their expert services throughout the day. Various healthcare facilities were made available under one roof to ensure maximum benefit for the participants.
The medical camp included general OPD consultations, blood pressure and diabetes screening, eye examinations, laboratory investigations, diagnostic tests, and free medicine distribution. Participants also received guidance on preventive healthcare measures and healthy lifestyle practices aimed at reducing the risk of chronic illnesses.
Specialized medical consultations were provided in several important fields including orthopaedics, gastroenterology, neurology, ENT, gynaecology, oncology, and cancer care. Doctors interacted with patients individually and addressed their health concerns while also advising them about timely treatment and regular health check-ups.
A major focus of the camp was cancer awareness and preventive care. Medical experts conducted awareness sessions highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, regular screening, and lifestyle modifications in preventing serious illnesses. Participants were educated about common symptoms, risk factors, and the need for timely medical intervention to reduce complications associated with cancer and other diseases.
Police trainees, ministerial staff, subordinate staff, and their family members actively participated in the event and expressed appreciation for the free healthcare facilities provided at the institute. Many beneficiaries underwent health screenings and consultations for the first time, making the initiative highly beneficial for the police community.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal appreciated the efforts of Diva International Foundation and the participating doctors for organizing the humanitarian initiative at PTTI Vijaypur. He emphasized that police personnel often work under stressful and demanding conditions, making healthcare support and awareness programmes extremely important for their physical and mental well-being.
He further stated that such initiatives not only provide immediate medical assistance but also encourage people to adopt healthier lifestyles and seek timely medical attention. The Principal also expressed gratitude to all visiting doctors, healthcare workers, and volunteers for dedicating their time and expertise for the welfare of police personnel and their families.
As a mark of appreciation, the institute authorities honoured the participating doctors and medical experts with mementoes in recognition of their valuable contribution to the success of the camp.
Among those present during the programme were Shri Khushwant Singh, DySP, Shri Satish Kumar, DySP, Smt. Sonali Kohli, DySP, faculty members of the institute, senior officials, and representatives of Diva International Foundation.
The successful organization of the health and cancer awareness camp reflected the growing importance of community-oriented healthcare initiatives and highlighted the commitment of PTTI Vijaypur towards the welfare and well-being of police personnel and their families.
