RAJOURI: With the arrest of two persons, the police claimed to have busted a gang of bike lifters and recovered of seven motorcycles from their possession in Rajouri area.
A police spokesman said that two complaints had been lodged at Police Station Thanamandi- one by Riaz Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed from Hasplote Tehsil Thanamandi stating that his motorcycle bearing registration No JK11D-5862 and the other by one Sohail Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed of Surankote that his motorcycle bearing registration No JK11B-7397, was stolen by some unknown persons. Based on this, FIRs No 102/2021 and 103/2021 U/S 3 79 IPC got registered at Thanamandi Police Station. Investigation was initiated by a team led by SHO Thanamandi, Insp Fareed Ahmed. During the course of investigation, several suspects were questioned and evidence examined, based on which two persons namely Faiz alias Saqib Wani, son of Late Mohd Riaz from Azamatabad and Istakhar, son of Mohd Ramzan, hailing from Alal, Thanamandi were tracked and arrested.
On their disclosure, seven bikes (including the two bikes in aforementioned FIRs) have been recovered by police. Their registration numbers are: JK11D-5862, JK11B-7397, Splender bearing chasis No MBLH8WI29NHA11265 stolen from Kalakote; Bullet classic chassis No ME3U3S5CODG288130 stolen from BG Gali; Bullet bike bearing chassis No ME3U35CIJ 24847 stolen from Rajouri, Pulsar 150 CC bearing chasis no MD2A11CYOHER19026 stolen from Manjakote and Bullet standard bearing chasis no ME3U3K5COEG512277.
Further legal proceedings are underway, the police said.
