COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 59.43 percent

TheĀ Union Government today said that a total of three lakh 47 thousand 979 people affected with corona virus have recovered in the country so far. In the past 24 hours, 13 thousand 157 people have recovered from Covid-19 and with this the recovery rate reached to 59.43 per cent. In terms of recovery rate, top five States and Union Territories are Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Tripura and Chhattisgarh wherein the recovery rate is above 78 per cent. Health and Family Welfare Ministry said, a total of 18 thousand 653 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country within 24 hours taking the total number of cases to five lakh 85 thousand 493. In a single day, 507 deaths have been reported taking the nationwide toll to 17 thousand 400. Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is two lakh 20 thousand 114. Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR said that a total of two lakh 17 thousand 931 tests of corona virus samples were conducted by the various laboratories in the country within 24 hours. So far, 88 lakh 26 thousand 585 tests have been conducted. ICMR is continuously scaling up its testing facilities for Covid-19 by giving approval to government and private laboratories. As of now, total one thousand 56 laboratories across India have been given approval to conduct the test for Covid-19 including 764 government laboratories and 292 private laboratories’ chains.
