Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, visited Yaripora on Tuesday to oversee the ongoing process of Jamabandi reading and public verification of the latest digitised land records prepared after the digitisation exercise and incorporation of mutations.
During the visit, officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the progress of the exercise and informed him that the updated digitised Jamabandi has been made available on the Zameen Sudhar Portal, enabling landowners to access and verify their land-related records online.
The initiative has been launched to enhance transparency, improve accessibility and ensure greater accuracy in revenue records.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that the exercise provides an important opportunity for estate holders and landowners to carefully examine their records and identify any discrepancies or inaccuracies that may require correction. He urged the public to actively participate in the verification process and make use of the online facility to review their land details.
Officials informed the Deputy Commissioner that any non-quasi-judicial errors found in the records can be corrected at the level of the concerned Tehsildar. Necessary mechanisms have been put in place to facilitate timely rectification of such mistakes and ensure that revenue records remain accurate and up to date.
The administration has appealed to landowners across the district to verify their records and report any genuine discrepancies so that corrective measures can be taken promptly. The digitisation of land records is expected to simplify revenue-related services, improve record management and strengthen transparency in land administration across the district.
