Directs Officers to ensure District-Wide Celebrations

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall in Budgam to review and finalise arrangements for the district-level celebration of International Yoga Day, which will be observed across the district on June 21. The meeting focused on ensuring smooth conduct of the event and maximising public participation in the celebrations.
During the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments and officers to make comprehensive arrangements for the successful organisation of Yoga Day programmes at various locations across the district. Emphasising the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental health and emotional well-being, he called for widespread awareness and active involvement of people from all sections of society.
Athar Aamir Khan instructed that International Yoga Day be celebrated in all government and private schools, colleges and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across Budgam district. He said the objective is to ensure that the message of healthy living, wellness and preventive healthcare reaches every household and encourages people to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to closely coordinate and supervise Yoga Day activities at their respective subdivision headquarters.
He asked them to work in collaboration with line departments, educational institutions and local stakeholders to ensure enthusiastic participation and effective implementation of the planned programmes at the grassroots level.
The meeting reviewed preparations related to sanitation, drinking water facilities, seating arrangements, medical assistance, security measures, transportation, logistics management, publicity campaigns and other essential services required for the successful conduct of the event.
Officials from various departments briefed the Deputy Commissioner about their preparedness and action plans for the celebrations. Representatives from the Youth Services and Sports Department, Health Department, School Education Department, Higher Education Department, AYUSH Department, Information Department, Police and other line departments presented detailed reports regarding the arrangements being put in place.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and without any inconvenience to participants.
The district-level event scheduled for June 21 is expected to witness large-scale participation from government officers, students, athletes, National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme cadets, healthcare professionals, yoga practitioners and members of the general public.

The programme aims to promote awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage a healthier and more active lifestyle among citizens.
Athar Aamir Khan urged all departments to work collectively and maintain close coordination in the days leading up to the event. He emphasised that every effort should be made to ensure flawless arrangements and meaningful participation so that the celebrations become a memorable and successful occasion throughout the district.
Among those present in the meeting were Additional District Development Commissioner Budgam Vivek Agarwal, Programme Officer Integrated Child Development Services Budgam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, General Manager District Industries Centre Budgam, Additional Superintendent of Police Budgam, Joint Director Planning Budgam, Superintending Engineer Roads and Buildings Budgam, all Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, District Information Officer, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer and other district officers and officials. The meeting concluded with a commitment from all departments to ensure the successful observance of International Yoga Day across Budgam district.
