In a humanitarian outreach initiative aimed at strengthening healthcare access and promoting community welfare, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora, organised a free medical camp at Government Higher Secondary School Mantrigram on Sunday. The programme was conducted with the support of ASG Eye Hospital and Paras Hospitals, bringing together medical professionals and support staff to serve the local population.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from residents of the area, including women, elderly individuals, and children, who turned up in large numbers to avail themselves of the healthcare services being offered. For many attendees, the camp provided an important opportunity to access medical consultation and treatment without the constraints of distance or cost. The presence of experienced doctors and trained medical personnel ensured that patients received proper attention and guidance regarding their health concerns.
A dedicated team of doctors conducted general health check-ups and provided specialised consultations for individuals suffering from various ailments. Patients were examined thoroughly, and necessary advice regarding treatment, medication, and lifestyle changes was shared.
The camp catered to a wide range of health issues, reflecting the diverse medical needs of the community. As part of the services offered, blood pressure and blood sugar tests were conducted free of cost, enabling early detection and monitoring of common health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Essential medicines were distributed among beneficiaries, ensuring that those in need could begin treatment without delay. The organisers made elaborate arrangements, including registration counters and consultation desks, to facilitate smooth functioning and minimise waiting time for patients.

In addition to providing medical care, the initiative also served as a platform to spread awareness about important social and health-related issues. Messages highlighting the significance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle were shared with the attendees. Special emphasis was laid on the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, with efforts made to sensitise people about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of staying away from substance addiction. The awareness component was aimed at encouraging individuals, particularly the youth, to make informed choices and lead healthier lives.
Local residents expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Indian Army, the District Administration Bandipora, and the supporting healthcare institutions in organising the camp. Many acknowledged that such initiatives play a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of remote and underserved areas. The availability of free medical services, combined with expert consultation, was seen as a valuable step towards improving public health at the grassroots level.
The organisers reiterated their commitment to continuing similar outreach programmes in the future, focusing on preventive healthcare and community well-being. The successful conduct of the camp not only provided immediate relief to patients but also strengthened the bond between the community and the institutions involved, reinforcing a shared commitment to public service and welfare.
