Express Deep Condolences Over Loss of Lives, Assure All Possible Assistance to Bereaved Family

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, and Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Shafqat Hussain Bhat, on Thursday visited Block Loran in Tehsil Mandi to meet the family affected by the recent landslide that claimed the lives of several members of the household. The senior officers expressed their condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of every possible support from the district administration during this difficult period.
The visit was undertaken to personally assess the situation, console the grieving family and review the relief and rehabilitation measures being implemented in the landslide-affected area. The officers also interacted with local residents to understand their concerns and evaluate the assistance required in the aftermath of the natural disaster.
Tehsildar Mandi Ashfaq Hussain, Station House Officer Mandi Younis Khan and other concerned officials accompanied the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police during the visit. The officials briefed them about the impact of the landslide, the relief measures undertaken so far and the ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the affected area.
During their interaction with the bereaved family, the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police conveyed their heartfelt sympathies over the tragic loss of lives.
They expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured the family that the administration fully understands the gravity of their loss. They reiterated that the government and the district administration stand firmly with the affected family during this time of grief. Ashok Kumar Sharma assured the family that every possible effort would be made to provide timely relief and rehabilitation assistance. He said the district administration is working round the clock to ensure that all affected families receive the necessary support and that relief measures are implemented without delay. He added that the administration is committed to addressing the genuine concerns of those affected by the landslide and ensuring that they receive all assistance admissible under the existing government norms.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that restoring normal life in the affected areas remains a top priority for the administration. He said that besides providing immediate relief, the district administration is also focusing on rehabilitation and restoration measures to help affected families recover from the impact of the disaster. He assured the bereaved family that their case would receive priority attention and that all possible support would be extended to them.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shafqat Hussain Bhat also expressed his condolences to the family and assured them of full cooperation from the Police Department. He said the police, in coordination with the civil administration, would continue to assist in relief operations and provide all necessary support to the affected population. He emphasised that the administration and police are working together to ensure the safety, security and well-being of residents in the affected areas.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police also reviewed the overall situation in Block Loran and assessed the progress of ongoing relief and restoration works. They instructed the concerned officers to continue monitoring the affected areas closely and ensure that all essential services are restored as quickly as possible. They also emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to address the challenges arising from the recent landslide.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to supporting every affected family through relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures. Officials assured that all available resources would be utilised to provide timely assistance, restore damaged infrastructure and help communities recover from the impact of the natural disaster while ensuring that vulnerable areas remain under continuous monitoring during the ongoing monsoon season.
