Emphasises seamless arrangements for smooth celebrations

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, visited Brariangan in Shangus to review preparations for the Murti Pratishthan Diwas of Mata Uma Bhagwati, scheduled to be held from July 19 to July 21. The visit was aimed at ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for the smooth and successful conduct of the three-day religious festival, which is expected to attract a large number of devotees.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner visited the temple premises and assessed the arrangements being made by various government departments. He reviewed the preparedness with regard to essential civic amenities, including drinking water supply, electricity, road connectivity, sanitation, healthcare facilities, security arrangements, traffic regulation and other services required for the convenience and safety of pilgrims.
Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the measures undertaken by their respective departments to facilitate the smooth conduct of the religious event. He directed all departments to complete the remaining works well before the commencement of the festival and ensure that all facilities remain functional throughout the event.
Dr. Bilal emphasised the need for close coordination among all departments to avoid any inconvenience to devotees. He instructed officers to maintain round-the-clock readiness during the festival and ensure uninterrupted delivery of essential services. He stressed that visitors should be provided with a clean, safe and well-organised environment throughout the celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned agencies to pay special attention to sanitation and cleanliness in and around the temple complex. He asked officials to ensure regular waste collection, proper maintenance of public conveniences and adequate drinking water facilities for the expected rush of pilgrims.
Healthcare preparedness was also reviewed during the visit. The health department was instructed to keep medical teams, ambulances and emergency services available throughout the festival to deal with any medical emergencies.
Officials were also asked to ensure the availability of essential medicines and first-aid facilities at the venue.
Security and traffic management formed another important part of the review meeting. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned authorities to make comprehensive arrangements for crowd management, smooth vehicular movement and public safety. Adequate deployment of security personnel and traffic staff was emphasised to regulate the movement of devotees and prevent congestion around the temple area.
Representatives of the Umanagri Trust Asthapan were present during the inspection and briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the preparations being undertaken by the Trust for the successful organisation of the festival.
They discussed various logistical requirements and highlighted the arrangements planned for the convenience of pilgrims visiting the shrine during the three-day event.
Dr. Bilal assured the Trust of full administrative support and reiterated the district administration’s commitment to ensuring the successful and peaceful conduct of the religious celebrations. He said all departments would work in close coordination to provide every possible assistance and ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during the festival.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Syed Ishfaq Ahmad, Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Sareer Ahmad Wani, Superintending Engineer, Power Development Department, Mohd Yousuf Mir, the Block Medical Officer, Tehsildar Anantnag, Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Anantnag and other senior officers from the concerned departments.
The Murti Pratishthan Diwas of Mata Uma Bhagwati is an important religious event in the region, attracting devotees from different areas. The district administration has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring comprehensive arrangements for the smooth, safe and successful conduct of the festival while providing all essential facilities to pilgrims and visitors.
