As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, an awareness drive on the harmful effects of alcohol misuse was conducted at Karawa, Banihal. The initiative aimed to educate local youth, students and community members about the physical, mental, social and economic consequences of alcohol abuse, while encouraging them to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
During the programme, Army personnel interacted with the participants and highlighted the adverse impact of alcohol addiction on individuals, families and society. The audience was sensitised about the importance of making informed choices, maintaining good health and staying away from all forms of substance abuse. Real-life examples and interactive discussions were used to convey the message effectively.
Participants were also encouraged to act as ambassadors of positive change within their communities by spreading awareness about the dangers of alcohol misuse and supporting collective efforts to build a drug-free society. Informational material and awareness messages were shared during the event to further strengthen the outreach.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, students and community elders, reflecting the collective commitment of the region towards the vision of a healthier and addiction-free Jammu and Kashmir.
The awareness drive concluded with a pledge by all participants to reject substance abuse, promote healthy living and contribute actively towards the success of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
