SVEEP Awareness Programme at Dogra Law College Promotes Voter Enrolments and Anti-Drug Initiative

A Special Camp and SVEEP Awareness Programme under the ongoing Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026 was conducted at Dogra Law College (Autonomous), Bari Brahmana, to enrol newly eligible voters and promote electoral awareness among youth.
The Programme was graced by Mr. Sandeep Dubey (SDM Vijaypur), Ms. Pranika (Tehsildar), and Ms. ParulKhajuria (BDO, Bari Brahmana), who urged students to participate in the democratic process actively. Officials conducted a SVEEP session highlighting voter registration, ethical voting practices, and youth participation, while also providing on-the-spot voter enrolment for the students. Addressing the students, Sh. R. S. Katal emphasized voting as a vital civic duty and responsibility and called upon students to take active role in nation-building.
The event was conducted in the presence of Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust; Sh. R. S. Katal, Member Advisory Committee (DET) and Member, Governing Body (DLC & DDC); Dr. Bela Thakur, Director DGC; and Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, DGC, and coordinated by Ms. Shuchi Sharma, Acting Principal, Dogra Law College(Autonomous).
The programme also aligned with the NashaMuktiAbhiyan, enforcing the message of a drug-free society as part of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor’s 100-day campaign against drug abuse. Speakers raised concern over the growing drug menace, urged strict social and administrative action against substance abuse, and encouraged students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society. Initiatives such as sports activities, walkathons, and bike rallies were proposed to channel youth energy towards positive engagement.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting growing sense of awareness, responsibility, and commitment towards democratic values and social responsibility.
