Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leaders and MLAs Arvind Gupta from Jammu West Assembly Constituency and Surinder Bhagat from Marh Constituency held a Public Darbar at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The Public Darbar provided a platform for people from various walks of life to raise their concerns and seek on-the-spot redressal. A large number of residents, social activists, and deputations representing different sectors presented their issues in the Darbar. Issues highlighted by the public included delay in development works, irregular water supply, need for sanitation interventions, repair of lanes & drains, frequent power cuts, and other issues.
Addressing on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said that the BJP is committed to ensuring time-bound resolution of people’s grievances.
He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government has placed public welfare at the core of governance.
Every issue raised here will be followed up with the concerned departments, and accountability will be ensured, he said.
He added that as an elected public representative, he will leave no stone unturned to improve the facilities related to public issues comprising of drainage, roads, street lighting etc.
Surinder Bhagat said that such public darbars strengthen the bond between elected representatives and the people while solving their issues. He said that being a representative from Marh, which includes people related to agriculture, he receives many issues related to the irrigation, supplies, electricity cuts, damaged roads and lanes due to rainy season. He said that he constantly takes up these issues with the administration, and asked the people to freely approach any BJP representative regarding their concerns.
Both MLAs further reiterated that BJP’s governance model is based on transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness.
