Arvind Gupta expressed concern for the rising drug menace and theft in Jammu city, and emphasized a multi-pronged approach to combat the menace.
Arvind Gupta, Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir and sitting MLA from Jammu West Assembly Constituency, held a Public Darbar at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The Public Darbar witnessed an overwhelming turnout of people from diverse areas and backgrounds, who came forward to voice their civic and administrative issues.
A wide cross-section of citizens, including senior citizens, youth, women, and representatives from various localities, approached the MLA with issues ranging from water and electricity supply, lane and road repairs, sanitation, pension, ration, police, and other public welfare matters.
Arvind Gupta gave a patient hearing to each individual and deputation. He personally took note of every concern raised and immediately communicated several issues to the concerned departments, both verbally and through written directives, while pressing for the immediate remedial measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta reiterated the commitment of the BJP to address the public issues at the grass root level. He said that while the public faces routine issues related to their daily chores, they also come across various other issues that require the intervention of specific government departments for the prompt resolution of the issues.
He said that for the diverse range of public issues, they need to get connected to a medium, which is provided by the BJP through these Public Darbars, which are held on routine basis at party headquarters in Jammu to facilitate the masses on an open basis.
“The BJP believes in proactive governance and direct engagement with the people. Public Darbars are a crucial platform where citizens can freely voice their concerns and receive on-the-spot responses. I am committed to ensuring that no genuine grievance goes unheard or unattended”, he said.
