The awareness program on Disaster Management organized by Civil Defence Rajouri, spearheaded by Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Ms. Jabeen Akhter, marked a significant step towards community preparedness and resilience. With live demonstrations and active participation from students, the event aimed to instill vital knowledge and skills necessary for mitigating disasters and handling crises effectively.
At the heart of the program was the emphasis on empowering learners to recognize and manage calamities, thereby preventing them from escalating into full-blown disasters. The trainers focused on imparting practical techniques to handle emergencies, emphasizing the importance of swift and effective micro-management during the critical early hours following any mishap.
Central to the demonstrations was the instruction on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), a life-saving technique crucial during the “golden hours” of any tragedy. By equipping participants with CPR skills, the session aimed to enhance their ability to respond promptly and decisively in situations where every second counts, potentially saving lives and minimizing loss.
Moreover, the event showcased rescue techniques that underscored the importance of resourcefulness and adaptability in crisis situations. By utilizing everyday items such as ropes, cots, chairs, and wooden logs, the trainers illustrated how ordinary materials can be repurposed for effective rescue operations, highlighting the significance of improvisation and ingenuity in emergency scenarios.
Beyond the immediate context, the informative session offered learners invaluable life-long skills, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate unforeseen challenges and contribute meaningfully to community resilience.
By fostering a culture of preparedness and proactive engagement, initiatives like these not only strengthen individual capabilities but also cultivate a collective sense of responsibility towards safeguarding lives and property in the face of adversity.
In essence, the Disaster Management awareness program served as a beacon of empowerment, inspiring participants to embrace their roles as proactive agents of change and resilience within their communities.
Through education, training, and hands-on participation, it laid the groundwork for a safer, more resilient future, where individuals are equipped and empowered to confront and overcome the challenges of an unpredictable world.
