Festival of Duggar Folk Culture (Music & Dances) was organized by Triple “A” Performing Arts Reasi and Supported by Ministry of Culture, Government of India held at Auditorium of Govt. College for Women, Parade Jammu.
Ms. Sunaina Sharma Mehta Joint Director Tourism Jammu & Janab Sohail Kazmi Eminent Journalist/Honble Member JKWaqf Board/Social Activist Jointly inaugurated the festival with the lighting of traditional lamp while Dr. S.P. Sarswat Principal College for Women, Jammu was the guest of honour, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan SDI J&K Academy of art, culture & languages was the special guest., Dr Shushma Rani presided over the function.

The programme which started with the first performance of a traditional folk item Geetru Lok Nach ” Aa gorie Aa showrua” performed by M. Jackson Cultural Society Jammu.The performances of various prominent folk and traditional folk parties performed folk culture including Karkan, Geetru, Gojri, Pahari, Punjabi, Dogri, Chajja Dance, Haran Dance etc., were presented which left the audience spell bound.
Mr Akram Khan Spoke on the occasion the objective of the festival was to revive the various folk and traditional arts (Music & Dances) which are dying in the modern times. These folk arts forms are more than hundred years old but rarely are seen to be performed neither in the rural nor in urban areas too and enrich the minds of people through traditional wisdom.
The chief guest appreciated the organisers who promote the dugger culture and also said that more events like this should be organised to revive age-old traditions and promote communal harmony and community participation. He hoped that Triple “A” Performing Arts would continue to organise such events in future.
Triple “A” Performing Arts organised the event in three locations of the flung area of the Himalayan and sub Himalayan region of Jammu i.e. Govt. College for Women parade Jammu, GZSMDC Reasi and Aghar Jitto Katra, to encourage the artists of the far – flung area of Jammu region.
On the occasion Following were honoured by the organisation members included Chief Guest Madam Sunaina Sharma Mehta (JAKS), Sohail Kazmi ji Eminent Journalist , Dr. S.P.Sarswat Principal Woman College Parade., Shashi Bushan Actor, Shadab Khan Actor & theatre Director, Dr Shushma Rani , B.S.Baba, Advocate Sarver Mir J.R. Jackson, Akram Khan, Gurvinder Kour, Rohit Bains Anchor, Poonam Sharma Suresh Kumar , Surinder Gupta, Nia Chauhan , Pt.Mohinder Bhardwaj, Kishor Atri, Ridhmia Sharma, Anabia Khan, Ayush Singh Aliya Thappa and Coordinator Pratham Sharma. Rohit Bans and Shadab Khan was Prociding of the programme.
