Dogra Degree College hosts ‘PowerSeminar – Campus to Corporate’

Dogra Degree College, in collaboration with ICT Academy, successfully conducted the Power Seminar – Campus to Corporate in its college auditorium. The seminar aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, equipping students with insights, skills, and real-world experiences necessary for a successful corporate transition.
A welcome speech was delivered by Rakesh Mohan Koul, HOD, Department of Management and Commerce, who welcomed all the guest speakers and emphasized the importance of academia-industry relationships in shaping students’ careers. The event featured distinguished speakers who inspired and motivated students with their remarkable journeys:
Guest Speaker Dr. H R Rehman, Executive Chairman of Global Human Rights Trust, shared his inspiring story of overcoming the challenges of being born in a remote village with limited access to education. His journey from struggling for schooling opportunities to earning a Ph.D., along with his contributions to human rights and education, served as a beacon of hope for students aspiring to break barriers.
Dr. Rehman also shared a keynote on electronic waste management, emphasizing its environmental impact and the role of responsible disposal in sustainable development.
Speaker Sunil Sharma, MD Cyborg Network Communication, spoke about his remarkable transition from campus to corporate and beyond. A multi-talented professional, he started as an employee, later became an entrepreneur, and is now a film producer. He shared insights into his journey and proudly announced the release of his upcoming movie “Shaila” on February 28, 2025. Udeshya Mahajan, Co-Founder Bhartiya Enterprise and project manager, emphasized the importance of Skill enhancement in today’s dynamic job market. He urged students to continuously upskill and align themselves with industry requirements.
Lovetesh Kumar, Senior Manager at ICT Academy, outlined the vision and roadmap of ICT Academy, highlighting its initiatives in fostering Industry-Academia collaboration and supporting students in building future-ready skills. The session was graced by Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, who expressed his gratitude to the distinguished speakers for sharing their insights. He motivated students to move beyond the syllabus, embrace industry-relevant skills, and stay proactive in their career journeys.
The session was also graced by Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, Dogra Group of Colleges, and Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College, Balwant Singh, HOD, Department of Arts and Faculty members who inspired the students to strive for excellence and to be proactive in acquiring industry-relevant skills.
The seminar featured an interactive session, where students eagerly engaged with the speakers, asking insightful questions and receiving valuable career guidance. Mementos were also presented to the esteemed guests. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Amarpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, followed by singing of National Anthem.
