Dogra Degree College has once again showcased its exceptional athletic talent as several of its students have earned remarkable achievements at various inter-university sports competitions. Students from a diverse range of disciplines, including basketball, boxing, judo, grappling, kickboxing, taekwondo, Gatka, and wushu, have excelled in these competitions, earning top positions and securing selection for national-level events.
Notable achievements include Anuragh Thakur, Tejveer Singh, and Shagun Bhagat, who represented the college in basketball at the inter-university level, while Aryan Jamwal and Sharan Aryan won gold and silver medals in Pencaksilat at the inter-college level. The boxing team saw impressive performances, with Shivali Chib securing a gold medal and Mohammad Kaif earning a silver medal, while Shivali also achieved a bronze in grappling.
In kickboxing, Vishal Kumar won a gold medal and was selected for the inter-university competition, while Shivali Chib and Shagun Bhagat won silver and bronze, respectively. The college’s athletes also excelled in Taekwondo, with Vishal Kumar winning a gold medal at the All India University level.
In Gatka, a traditional martial art, students like Riya Dhamathia, Payal Devi, and Karandeep Kour not only earned gold medals but were also selected for the inter-university team, highlighting their outstanding performance.
The College’s Wushu team also performed excellently, with Narayan Pratap earning a gold medal and Shivali Chib securing another gold in the same discipline. These achievements reflect the college’s commitment to nurturing athletic talent alongside academic excellence, as students consistently excel in competitive sports while maintaining their academic pursuits.

Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman DET, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary DET, Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr. Geetika Sehgal, Coordinator DET, and Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, personally congratulated the students on their outstanding success, further motivating them to continue shining on national and international platforms.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman DET appreciated the efforts of Kewel Krishan Physical Instructor & Gulshan Sharma NCC CTO/ANO cum PTI for preparing the players and coordinating with the University of Jammu for smooth participation in the Inter Collegiate University Sports Competition.
