To ensure effective implementation of government schemes and address developmental needs, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma visited Dasal to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes. The visit was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to monitor and expedite the implementation of critical water supply projects to provide potable water to each household.
The Deputy Commis-sioner inspected several sites in the area and interacted extensively with local residents to understand their issues. The locals expressed concerns regarding delays in the completion of certain works and highlighted their expectations from the JJM. Responding to their concerns, the DC assured the public that the administration is committed to the timely delivery of JJM benefits. He directed the concerned departments to address all bottlenecks and expedite the ongoing works. “Quality and timeliness are non-negotiable. We must ensure that every household has access to safe and sufficient drinking water as per the objectives of the Jal Jeevan Mission,” he remarked. DC also instructed officials to conduct regular reviews, streamline processes, and ensure seamless coordination between implementing agencies to avoid delays.
Following the JJM inspections, the Deputy Commissioner visited Makote Park in Thandikasi to evaluate its condition and address issues raised by residents regarding its maintenance. During the visit, he observed several shortcomings, including cleanliness issues and non-functional lights, which compromise the park’s utility as a recreational space for the public. To address these concerns, DC Rajouri directed the concerned departments to immediately initiate cleanliness drives in the park and replace all non-functional lights. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that public spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming. “Parks and recreational spaces play a vital role in community well-being, and their proper upkeep is a priority,” he added.
The Deputy Commiss-ioner’s visit underscores the district administration’s commitment to transparent governance, proactive public engagement, and timely implementation of development projects. He urged officials to remain responsive to public grievances and work towards resolving them at the earliest. The Deputy Commis-sioner was accompanied by senior officers from the Jal Shakti Department, the Rural Development Department, and other concerned officials.
