The Prime Minister National Apprenticeship Mela was today conducted at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Bandipora.
The event witnessed the participation of over 200 aspirants, alongside representatives from various local establishments and units.
Besides, officials from the District Industries Centre Bandipora and Jamkash Vehicleades Bandipora also attended the event and contributed valuable insights on the growing demand for skills.
The mela aimed to promote skill development and apprenticeship opportunities for the youth, empowering them to gain practical experience in various fields. Sahil Rashid, Superintendent ITI Bandipora, emphasized the pivotal role of apprenticeships in bridging the skill gap.
He noted that these programmes not only help enhance the employability of the youth but also create a pool of skilled professionals that are essential for the growth of local industries.
Sahil further encouraged both young aspirants and industry stakeholders to take full advantage of the National Apprenticeship Portal to foster a skilled workforce for the future.
He assured that ITI Bandipora would continue to support and facilitate apprenticeship opportunities for candidates to ensure they receive high-quality training. The Manager Jamkash Vehicleades Bandipora also highlighted the need for a market-oriented skill set, underscoring how essential it is for today’s workforce to adapt to evolving industry demands.
He urged the youth to explore different fields of apprenticeship that can prepare them for emerging job markets. The event saw a positive response, with more than 100 candidates successfully registering on the portal to begin their apprenticeship journey.
