DOGRA HERALD BUREAU
POONCH, Oct 15
History Mehakma with Juhie (HMwJ), a podcast series on Youtube Channel ‘Juhie Mohan’, celebrated its first anniversary at Shri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School by initiating a panel discussion titled “Preserving Pride: Addressing the Missing Linkages Between the Past and Future.”
The discussion brought together individuals from diverse fields working to preserve Jammu’s heritage, including heritage professionals, policymakers, and practitioners. The panelists observed that in the age of globalisation and technological advancement, a synthetic homogeneous macroculture has emerged, leading to the erosion of heritage. They emphasized the urgent need for identification, documentation, and preservation of heritage. This is imperative as policymaking concerning a region, community, or group development cannot be effective without knowledge of their Ways of Life (heritage).
