VIJAYPUR, Sept 28
Apni Part’s Contesting Candidate for Vijaypur Assembly Constituency, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh said that the people have rejected the divisive agenda of BJP in Vijaypur in the ongoing election campaign of Legislative Assembly.
“The NBJP has failed to convince the people. The party is not talking about development or employment. It has against adopted its agenda of division that is not being supported by the people,” said S. Manjit Singh, addressing a number of public meetings.
These public meetings have received an overwhelming response irrespective of their caste, colour, creed, and religion.
“The people have suffered in the last ten years. These elections have provided them an opportunity to elect the Govt of their choice that would work for development and generate employment. Jammu and Kashmir, especially Vijaypur has recorded an unprecedented rise in unemployment among the youth that it has turned alarming,” he stated.
He said that the time has come to meet the challenge and vote in favour of a candidate, who will fight for the justice of all the people with discrimination.
“The people are fed – up with the divisive agenda of the BJP that is being pushed against in the ongoing election campaign. The people want that their local issues of development, basic amenities and employment related concerns can be resolved,” he added, expressing his commitment towards the people.
Asserting that the Apni Party is committed to intensify its fight against the UT status, he said that the Party believes in the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, and the restoration of all the constitutional rights to an elected Govt of the erstwhile state to empower the democratic institutions.
“The democratic institutions have weakened with the decision that the LG will be more powerful than an elected Govt in Jammu and Kashmir. The Govt whosoever comes to power will not be able to work for the welfare of the people, if the LG continues to enjoy more powers than an elected Govt. Therefore, the decision must be reviewed in the interest of strengthening the democratic institution,” he said.
He said that enthusiasm among the people can be witnessed from the public rallies and the strength of people attend these meetings on day-to-day basis in every nook and corner of Vijaypur and they extend support to the Apni Party with a belief that the resources, employment, land, tourism, etc., can be protected in the best interest of the local population.
