Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, today slammed the Congress Party’s recently released manifesto for the J&K Assembly elections, calling it a “bunch of lies” and accusing the party of making false promises that it has repeatedly failed to fulfill.
Speaking at the meeting held here today, Kavinder Gupta pointed out that the Congress, which has held power for several decades both at the Centre and in the state, has a dismal track record of failing to deliver on previous promises made in their election manifestos. “The Congress is trying to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir yet again, with a manifesto full of unrealistic pledges. They haven’t delivered in the past, and now they expect voters to trust them again with the same empty promises,” he stated.
The senior BJP leader called the Congress’ new manifesto an attempt to confuse voters and mask its long history of failures. “The irony is hard to miss. After being in power for decades and contributing to the stagnation of development, the Congress now promises miracles if they are voted back. People of J&K are well aware of their history of broken promises,” he added.
Kavinder Gupta further criticized the Congress for failing to address its involvement in various scandals during its tenure for 55-60 year in the country.
“If Congress is serious about serving the people, it should first explain the massive scams that happened under its rule. From looting billions to failed governance, the people of J&K will not be fooled anymore,” he remarked.
Contrasting the Congress’ record with that of the BJP, Kavinder praised his Party’s efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, which he said have led to significant development and progress in Jammu and Kashmir. “The BJP has worked tirelessly to bring peace, prosperity, and opportunities to the people of J&K. Our achievements on the ground will overshadow the Congress’ hollow attempts to regain power,” he affirmed.
The former deputy Chief Minister appealed to the voters of Jammu and Kashmir to not fall prey to the Congress and other political parties’ “deceptive tactics” and to support the BJP in its mission to continue the region’s transformation under the Modi government in the upcoming Assembly polls.
