The City of Temples is all set to host the first-ever Speed Fest India, a groundbreaking car racing event, from August 30 to September 1 at the iconic MA Stadium. This three-day event promises to bring excitement and adrenaline to car racing enthusiasts in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event is expected to be inaugurated by the Honourable Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, who will serve as the Chief Guest. The occasion will also be graced by the presence of the Divisional Commissioner, Director of Tourism, Deputy Director of Tourism, and District Sports Officer.
The event is organized by BSR MotorSports, led by Shivek Tyagi, Shakunt Walia, and Aryaman Sharma, along with Backyard Customs, led by Pranav Vir Singh and Dheemant Vir Singh, in collaboration with the J&K Tourism Department and J&K Sports Council. The primary aim of the car racing event is to boost the motorsports and automobile industry in Jammu and Kashmir, providing a platform for local talents and car enthusiasts to showcase their skills and passion.
On Day 1 (August 30), a historic rally will commence from MA Stadium at 6 PM and conclude at Hari Niwas Palace. On Days 2 and 3 (August 31 & September 1), the Auto Cross format will be held in various categories from 8 AM to 6 PM at MA Stadium. Additionally, there will be cultural performances by folk artists, and a handicraft and flea market organized by the J&K Tourism Department.
The car races will be conducted on a specially prepared tarmac surface with a Time Attack format, adding to the thrill and challenge for participants.
The overall winner of the event will receive a cash prize, medal, trophy, and certificate. All participants will also be awarded medals, trophies, and certificates for their participation and performance.
