The All J&K Labana Samaj, under the president of S. Ranjeet Singh Tohra, successfully hosted a one-day convention focused on “Unity & Progress “of all J&K Labana Samaj on26th August 2024 at Sardar palace, Kirpind R.S.Pura. This significant event brought together members of the Labana community from across j&k to discuss and strategize on enhancing the community’s representation and influence within the state’s political landscape.
Key Discussions and Outcomes:**
- The convention addressed the pressing issue of the lack of representation of the Labana community in the J&K Assembly.
- In-depth discussions were held on the impacts of recent delimitation on our community, highlighting the need for a fair and inclusive approach.
- Critical issues related to Other Backward Classes (OBC) were brought to the forefront, with proposals for addressing these challenges effectively.
- A unified strategy and a call for action were formulated to ensure the Labana community’s voices are heard and represented in the political arena.
- The importance of promoting the Punjabi language was highlighted, advocating for its recognition as an official language in Jammu and Kashmir. The convention emphasized the need to introduce Punjabi as a subject in primary schools, ensuring its proper teaching with qualified faculty.
President Tohra presided over the convention, guiding the discussions and encouraging active participation from all attendees.
