Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association Jammu took their signatures campaign for long pending demand of Satellite Duggar Channel here in Udhampur City District Udhampur and held a meeting today under the chairmanship of its President Sh J.S.Babli with artists fraternity of Udhampur District and open the District Udhampur Chapter of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association and uniounimislly elect Sh. Mohan Mistri President, Sh. Jagdeep Dubey General Secretary, Sh.Deepak Kumar,,Sh. Devinder Thakur,Manju Bala,V.D. Shirishthha,Sudesh Sultanpuri and Rahul Sharma are executive members of the assocition of Udhampur Chapter.The said team shall educate the masses of District Udhampur regarding the importance of Satellite Dugger channel and convince them to support the noble cause. Sh. Jagdeep Dubey Sahitya Academi Awardee said the Satellite Duggar Channel is the need of the hours to promote the language, culture and heritage of Duggar Land and save the identity of Dogras. After the announcement of executive body of District Udhampur the Signature campaign has been launched at Gole Market Udhampur City, large numbers of people from all walk and remote areas put their signatures in support of Satellite Duggar Channel and also appreciated the efforts of DADAA for organizing the Signature campaign for the demand of Satellite Duggar Channel.
Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) here today also organized a peaceful rally from Mukerjee Bazar Chowk to main bazar of Gole Market. A large number of artists including actors, producers, directors, writers, folk singers, musicians and prominent citizens under the banner of DADAA participated in the rally demanding Satellite Duggar Channel for the protection and development of rich cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar land in general and for the welfare of artists in particular.
The protesters said that Satellite Duggar Channel will cover the area of Jammu region of 32,200 sq. km.and also reach near about one hundred thirty six countries.
“Languages other than Dogri which are spoken in Jammu province and its adjoining areas as well as in Pakistan and PoJK are Gojri, Bhaderwahi, Kishtwari, Pahari, Mirpuri, Poonchi, Sheeraji and Mujafrabadi,” the protesters maintained adding: “Each of these languages has centre base in Jammu and these languages are well understood and spoken in many parts of Pakistan and PoJK, so the Satellite Duggar Channel may effectively counter anti-India propaganda of Pakistan.”
They informed that DADAA has also a propasal of such type rallies and signature campaign in all Districts of Jammu region to seek the support of general public of Jammu region for the demand of Satellite Duggar channel.
The members from Jammu who were also present in signature campaign and peaceful procession are Madan Rangila,Janak Khajuria and Rajinder Narang.
