JAMMU, June 24
In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Shri Amarnath Yatra, final arrangements are underway to accommodate the influx of pilgrims. To ensure that all devotees can participate in the pilgrimage without registration issues, five immediate registration centers will be established in Jammu City.
Starting from June 29, these centers will facilitate the registration process for pilgrims arriving from across the country. Along with these centers, token counters will be set up to issue tokens with specific dates and times for registration.
The new centers aim to streamline the registration process, complementing the current in-person and online registration options available through specific banks. These measures are expected to handle the high number of pilgrims anticipated this year efficiently.
The five immediate registration centers will be located at Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan, Mahajan Hall, Ram Mandir, and Geeta Bhawan. Additionally, a registration center is planned near the Jammu Railway Station, near Saraswati Dham, and the Bus Stand to further assist pilgrims.
Officials from the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, along with local authorities and a significant presence of Saints and Sadhus, are actively preparing to welcome the pilgrims. Enhanced security measures are also being implemented to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the Yatra.
The administration is working 24×7 to provide hassle-free facilities to the visiting devotees of Baba Amarnath. Various departments are coordinating to ensure that amenities such as clean drinking water, medical aid, sanitation, and transport are readily available. Temporary shelters and rest areas are being set up at strategic points along the route to provide respite to the pilgrims. Emergency response teams are on standby to address any unforeseen incidents swiftly.
The Shri Amarnath Yatra, one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimages, draws devotees from across the globe. The holy cave shrine of Amarnath, located in the Himalayas, holds immense religious significance, being dedicated to Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage involves a challenging trek through rugged terrain, and the administration is making every effort to ensure the journey is as smooth and safe as possible.
The establishment of these five immediate registration centers in Jammu City marks a significant step towards accommodating the influx of pilgrims for the 2024 Shri Amarnath Yatra. The comprehensive preparations and round-the-clock efforts of the administration and support from local communities underscore the commitment to ensuring a seamless and sacred journey for all devotees of Baba Amarnath.
