NCC Cadets Visit ISRO Center at CUJ

On 6 June 2024, under Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh PVSM,AVSM, VSM DG NCC Training Directive 2024-25 focus on contemporary technology orientation and absorption training, Col MK Sharma, Camp Commandant J4 ATC, accompanied by NCC officers and 50 cadets, visited the Central University Campus, Jammu. The cadet entourage was expertly conducted by Dr. Amita Gupta, Assistant Professor and NCC Associate NCC Officer (ANO).
Visit Highlights:

  1. Satish Dhawan Space Centre, ISRO: High-Tech Telescopes & Spectroscopy: Cadets received insightful presentations on the functioning and significance of advanced telescopes and spectroscopy. Scientific Instruments: The cadets were introduced to various high-tech scientific instruments used in space research and exploration.
  2. TAWI DHARA (Mini FM Radio Station): Interactive Session with Mr. Rajan: The cadets engaged with Mr. Rajan, PRO, Central University, who explained the operations and impact of TAWI DHARA, the mini FM radio station.
  3. Inspirational Sessions: JUO Simran Thakur: Shared a motivating story about the first Para Jumping Qualified cadet from the Bhaderwah-Kishtwar region.
    Sgt Shivangi: Narrated an inspiring ballad and discussed essential aspects of being a Radio Jockey, enriching the cadets’ understanding of this career.
  4. Motivational Interaction with Dr. (Prof) Sanjeev Jain:
    Achievements and Guidance: The Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Dr. (Prof) Sanjeev Jain, shared his remarkable achievements and offered guidance to the young cadets, inspiring them to pursue excellence in their endeavours.
    The NCC Bhaderwah unit, along with all 500 cadets attending the camp, extended heartfelt gratitude to Dr. (Prof) Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Rajan, Dr. Amita Gupta, and the PhD scholars at the ISRO Centre at Central University for facilitating this enriching visit and inspiring the young minds of tomorrow.
