Shiv Sena expresses apprehension over organizing free and fair elections in J&K

Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit expressing doubt over the claims of ensuring free and fair elections with large-scale public participation, without providing adequate security to all the opposition leaders including Shiv Sena and creating no hindrance in the programs organized by them.
Sahni said that facilities like adequate security and accommodation are immediately issued to those in power and the leaders of their “favourite parties formed overnight”. But the leaders of opposition parties, especially Shiv Sena (UBT), are being given step-motherly treatment.
Sahni said that he has been the head of Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit for last five years and has made a written appeal to provide security to all the officials from Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Chief Secretary, DGP, but he is not being provided security. Sahni alleged that as part of a well-planned strategy, efforts are being made to keep him away from party promotion in Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently they were not allowed to talk to journalists and hold Jan Samvad Yatra in Srinagar, Kashmir.
Along with this, Imran Shaikh, who recently left BJP and joined their party, is not allowed to go out and promote the party under the cover of security.
Sahni said that Jammu and Kashmir being a sensitive area, the shadow of terrorism has been looming here for the last 35 years. It cannot be predicted when and whom terrorists will target in order to maintain their dominance and make their presence felt.
Sahni said that the dates of elections for the 18th Lok Sabha can be announced at any time, in such a situation, for the expansion and promotion of the party, he has to visit remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir division, but due to lack of security, There is always a fear of some untoward incident. Sahni said that a memorandum will also be submitted to the Election Commission officials regarding his above demands. On this occasion president mehila wing Meenakshi Chhibber, President Kamghar Raj Singh, Organiser Imran Shekh were present.
