The students of Dogra Higher Secondary School (DHSS) brought great pride to the institution by showcasing their exceptional sporting skills and winning medals in the recently concluded OPEN-DISTRICT Speedball Championship 2024.
The championship, organized by the J&K Sports Speedball Association, was held at DHSS premises and witnessed participation from around 200 players representing more than 9 different schools.
A total of 22 students from DHSS participated in the event and displayed remarkable talent in various categories, ultimately securing medals in three categories. The closing ceremony of the championship was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner, J&K.
A shining star of the championship was Master Shivang Nargotra, a talented student from Class 9th of DHSS, who received the coveted “Overall Best Player” Award. His exceptional performance earned him a Gold Medal, the Best Player Trophy, and a cash reward of Rs. 2500.
Several other students from DHSS also showcased their prowess and brought home medals. Gold medals were bagged by Aahan Dubey, Balbir, Palak, Abhishek, Pardumn, and Shivang, while Sushant Thakur, Viraj, and Diksha secured Silver Medals. Additionally, Mansi, Rudhr, Rudhar Manhas, and Mohd Mad Ashad were awarded Bronze Medals for their outstanding performances.
The achievement of DHSS students was celebrated by the Managing Director, Kunwar Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, and the Principal, Devinder Kour, who extended their heartfelt congratulations to the students, their parents, and Coach Sunny Nanda for their exceptional efforts and dedication.
The outstanding success of the students in the Open-District Speedball Championship 2024 highlights the commitment of DHSS towards nurturing and encouraging the overall development of its students. These achievements also serve as a testament to the excellent coaching and guidance provided by the sports department at DHSS.
