Valedictory function of 7 day long winter camp organises by NSS unit of GDC, Marheen

Valedictory function of the 7 Day Long Winter Camp was organized by NSS unit of Government Degree College Marheen on 21-02-2024. On this occasion, Dr Janak Singh, the most revered Retd. Principal of the college was the chief Guest and Dr Anupama Gupta esteemed Principal of GDC, Marheen was Guest of Honour. The function was started by the welcome address of Dr Arun Dev Singh NSS Programme Officer of the College by offering the Bouquets to the Guests followed by the lightening ceremony, recitation of Saraswati Vandana and NSS song by NSS Volunteers.He has read out detailed report of 7 Day Long Winter Camp in which he elaborated the various activities which were carried out by 55 NSS volunteers during the camp:On 15-02-2024, NSS unit started a 7 Day Long Winter Camp at adopted village Marheen under the aegis of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 which was inaugurated by Dr. Anupama Gupta, esteemed Principal of the College ,On 16-02-2024 NSS unit invited a team of SDRF and Civil – Defence from District headquarter and team organized a well- planned demo in the college, On 17-02-2024 Plantation Drive and Nasha Mukt Campaign was organized and the large number of NSS volunteers participated actively in Plantation drive which was conducted in the Primary Health Centre of village Marheen On 18-02-2024 a Swachta rally and door to door campaign was conducted. On 19-02-2024 a Lecture was organized by NSS unit on the theme of “EAT HEALTHY, STAY HEALTHY”. The lecture was delivered by Dr Sanjeet Sharma and Dr Namrata from District Ayush Department Kathua, On 20-02-2024 a Yoga Session was organized by NSS unit.
On this occasion, Mr Ankush Modeel and Mr Balwinder Kumar experts from Ayush Department Kathua were invited for yoga training.
Dr Anupama Gupta, esteemed Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers and supported them by saying that they played a vital role and rendered community services in the interest of the people during the camp which would help them in future to develop their personality, confidence and feeling of wellbeing. The Chief Guest distributed certificates, the Mementos and medals among the NSS Volunteers who attended Camps and rendered meritorious services in the interest of society. Siya, Sr, Volunteer received Best Volunteer Award of 7 Day Long Winter Camp whereas Mr Shubam was given Best- Runner–up NSS Volunteer award. Dr Arun Dev Singh extended his special thanks to Dr Janak Singh respected Retd. Principal of the College who consented to be the Chief- Guest and graced the Occasion with lot of blessings and he also extended thanks to Dr Anupama Gupta esteemed Principal of the college who constantly supported the entire NSS unit and Volunteers during the camp. He also extended special thanks to locals : Sh Shiv Dev Singh, Sh Subash Singh,Sh Anupawan Singh and others for providing support during the camp.He said that he would fail if he could not be able to extend his gracious thanks to Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India ,Regional Directorate NSS Delhi, Dr Yasmeen Ashai worthy Director Hr. Education NSS Officer of Jammu and Kashmir UT,and Dr Hema Gandotra respected NSS Coordinator University of Jammu without their support it was quite difficult to organize such type special camp of 7 Day Long winter. And eventually, he extended his thanks and gratitude from core of heart to the faculty members: Prof. Sandeep Choudhary, Prof Anoop Sharma, Dr Munisha, Dr Imran, Dr Shallu, Dr Barneet, Dr Reemi, Dr Rajni, Dr Surbhi, Prof Preeti, other official, NSS volunteers of the college, media persons who gave wonderful and huge coverage.
