Award’ at OTM, 2024; draws huge response from tourist trade fraternity

Commissioner/Secretary, Tourism and Labour department reviews progress at Delhi regarding Sound & Light show projects of Leh Palace & Suru River Front, Biamathang, Kargil, attends the 58th Conference of Chief Inspectors of Factories at Bhubaneswar, Orissa Mumbai/Leh, February 12, 2024: The Ladakh Tourism Pavilion was adjudged winner of the Best Design & Decoration Award at OTM, 2024. The deputy Chief minister & Tourism Minister, of Rajasthan, Diya Kumari gave away the award at the award ceremony held on day 3 of the travel trade fair at the Jio Convention Center, Mumbai.
The Minister also visited the Ladakh Tourism Pavilion and interacted with the tourism officials and co-exhibitors. The Ladakh Pavilion attracted an overwhelming response from national and international travel trade fraternity and visitors on all three days of OTM, 2024.
As part of its tourism promotion measures, Ladakh Tourism with its official delegation along with over 30 co-exhibitors attended the travel extravaganza drawing thousands of tourists, holidaymakers, travel trade buyers, and tour-organizing professionals to the Ladakh pavilion. Hundreds of travel trade fraternity members from different states UTs and foreign countries visited the Ladakh Pavilion and interacted with the members of the official delegation and co-exhibitors from the UT. The interactions involved presentations, short films on known and off-beat destinations of Ladakh, and discussions on sustainable inbound & and outbound travel.
On 9th February, the Commissioner/Secretary of Tourism Department, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan participated as a special guest in a session on the theme “Bringing Global Destinations to Indian Cinema”. This interaction brought together production houses of Indian Cinema and tourism officials from India and abroad and discussed the need to work together to make the processes of permissions for shooting seamless and less time-consuming so that film tourism becomes a reality in India and abroad.
The Tourism Department, UT Ladakh is making meaningful efforts to give the tourism stakeholders from Ladakh required exposure within the country and abroad to promote Ladakh as a round-the-year tourist destination. OTM being one of the best travel marts provides an appropriate forum at the national and international levels for promoting Ladakh as a 12-month tourist destination. Such platforms also provide opportunities to conduct B2B, B2C, B2G, and G2G interactions, which help in establishing fruitful business relationships and at the same time spread information about hitherto unknown tourist destinations within the UT of Ladakh.
The Commissioner/Secretary (Tourism), post his visit to Mumbai held a review meeting at Delhi with the GM, ITDC regarding the finalization of the Audio-Video presentation of the light and sound show projects being inaugurated at Leh Palace, Leh, and Suru River Front, Biamathang, Kargil. The Commissioner/Secretary stressed on ITDC to stick to timelines and complete the project before the onset of tourist season in Ladakh. GM, ITDC has assured that the project will be completed as per the desired timelines.
The Commissioner/Secretary is also attending the 58th Conference of Chief Inspectors of Factories at Bhubaneswar being organized by the Ministry of Labour and Labour Department, Government of Orissa. On the first day of the conference on 12th February, meaningful discussions on the agenda items were held and actions required at the State/UT level and the Ministry level in respect of framing of Rules following the framing of Labour Codes have been discussed.
These Codes are likely to be implemented soon.
