Deputy Commissio-ner, Ramban Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress and achievements made under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district.
During the review, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhary stressed the importance of achieving comprehensive coverage of schemes at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for balanced development across all panchayats, urging all line departments to work towards this goal diligently.
Active involvement of farmers was highlighted as essential for the successful execution of the HADP plan. Officials were directed to engage and educate farmers about the schemes to ensure their effective implementation.
To facilitate market access to local produce, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) to facilitate the establishment of rural huts for Farmers Producer Organizations (FPO). Additionally, plans were made to organize a Kissan Mela to educate the farming community, with insights shared by progressive farmers.
Reviewing the departmental and sector-wise progress, the Deputy Commissioner stressed all line departments to work towards achieving saturation of schemes at the panchayat level, ensuring uniform development across all panchayats.
During the meeting, 486 cases were approved under the HADP, including initiatives in the Animal Husbandry and Agriculture sectors. These initiatives aim to bolster the farming community by promoting dairy and poultry farming, niche crops, farm machinery, vermi compost units, hi-tech PG houses, and integrated farming systems.
Chief Planning Officer, Shakeeb Rather, GM, DIC, Ravinder Anand, District Nodal Officer (HADP), CAHO, Dr. Suhail Kawosa, CAO, Ram Gopal Sharma, LDM, Rashid Sofi, DDM, NABARD, Arushi Sharma, Deputy Register, Cooperative, Priyanka Sharma and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
