Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) organised largely attended, impressive programmes at assembly constituencies across the Union Territory on the auspicious occasion of 14th National Voters Day falling on January 25.
The BJP had deputed senior leaders of the party at different venues to interact with the first time voters and address them.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP President Ravinder Raina, interacted with the first time voters in a programme held at CLC Banquet Hall, Greater Jammu, in Jammu south assembly constituency. More than five hundred first time voters had reached the venue to meet and listen the BJP President.
Ravinder Raina, engaged in a ground breaking dialogue with the youth during this Nav Matdata Sammelan and spoke on the importance of the vote. He said that once someone gets registered in the voter list, he or she become a crucial member of the democratic process of the country.
The value of a vote in the democracy carries great significance as every single vote matters in deciding the fate of the nation. Former MLC Vikram Randhawa also accompanied the State president and stressed upon the first time voters to remain alert and become a judge to identify the parties promoting nepotism and corruption.
Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing a massive gathering of first time voters at Kalra Carnival in Udhampur East assembly constituency, said that the role of youth in every sphere of life is very important and they contribute a lot in nation building. He said that today’s youth, the first time voter, is more informed and well acquainted with the developments in the country under the Modi’s model of good governance.
Lok Sabha MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma along with former minister Priya sethi, in a programme at Brahman Sabha in Jammu East assembly constituency, said that youth is the backbone of any democracy and the first time voters play important role in bringing change in the political environment in the country. Priya Sethi spoke on the importance of gender equality, adding that the Modi government has provided platform for the females to prove their abilities and capacities.
Former Minister Sat Sharma interacted with first time voters at Luthra Higher Secondary School, Talab Tillo in Jammu West Constituency. He said that the youth should get registered as a Voter and also educate their friends and near dear ones to be enrolled as a voter.
Rajya Sabha former MP, Shamsher Singh Manhas, while interacting with the first time voters in Jammu North assembly constituency, said that the youth of today takes deep interest in observing the political environment around him and plays decisive role in rejecting or strengthening any government on the basis of its policies.
General Secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, interacted with first time voters in Amar Singh Club, Srinagar, said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has himself addressed the first time voters through virtual mode, which itself is a testimony of the fact that the PM want to instil a sense of responsibility and participation of the youth of India in shaping the destiny of the nation.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, interacted with the first time voters in Durga Bhawan, Bahu assembly constituency and said that the new voters should not get misled by the pleasing slogans of the political parties but trust a party which has, time and again, proved its commitment to serve the nation and its people.
General Secretary and former minister, Dr. Devinder Manyal interacted with the first time voters in Ramgarh assembly constituency. General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta interacted with the first time voters in Rajouri city.
Similarly, former minister Sukhnandan Chaudhary interacted with first time voters in Marh constituency, former minister Sham Lal Sharma interacted with the first time voters in Shiv Shakti Palace, in Khour assembly constituency. Former Minister Surjeet Singh Slathia interacted with first time voters at RR Resort in Samba assembly constituency, Sham Chaudhary at Suchetgarh. At Vijaypur former minister Chander Prakash Ganga and at Jasrota, Rajeev Jasrotia interacted with the first time voters. Former ministers Ajay Nanda at Reasi, Shakti Raj Parihar interacted with the new voters at Doda West, Pawan Gupta at Udhampur West. Vice President Pawan Khajuria at Udhampur East. Former MLA Devender Rana at Nagrota assembly constituency interacted with first time voters.
Ex MLAs Rajeev Sharma at Akhnoor, Neelam Langeh at Ramban, Dilip Singh Parihar at Bhaderwah, Balwant Mankotia at Chenani addressed the first time voters. Chand Ji Bhat addressed the Kashmir Displaced District at Jagti.
BJYM State President Arun Prabhat, while complimenting the Yuva Morcha activists in the entire UT for organising successful programs of first time voters, said that the efforts of constituency level youth of the party has succeeded in sending a message among the new voters that each one of them has a role in the society and the nation building.
