The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is set to host its 37th Convocation on 20th February 2024 at the IGNOU Headquarters in New Delhi. The convocation ceremony is a significant milestone for the university, celebrating the academic achievements of its learners. The event will be broadcasted live on various platforms, including GyanDarshan, Swayam Prabha, Doordarshan, webcast through the IGNOU website, and social media platforms of the University, allowing a wider audience to partake in the celebration.
In addition to the main ceremony in New Delhi, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar will organize a parallel convocation function for learners in the Kashmir region and the Union Territory of Ladakh. This initiative aims to make the convocation experience more accessible for learners in distant regions, ensuring that they too can celebrate their academic accomplishments.
Learners who have successfully completed their programs in the Term End Examinations held in December 2022 and June 2023 are eligible to apply for receiving their degree during the convocation function. Online registration and fee payment for the convocation have commenced, and the portal will remain open until 10th February 2024. Learners who have not yet paid the requisite registration fee of Rs. 600/- per certificate for the 37th Convocation can conveniently make the payment through the official IGNOU portal.
Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, Regional Director of IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, highlighted the ongoing admission cycle for the January 2024 session. The last date for fresh admissions in all programs offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online (OL) modes is 31st January 2024. Prospective students can refer to the e-prospectus 2024 available on the IGNOU website and the Regional Centre Srinagar website for comprehensive details on all the programs offered. The e-prospectus provides essential information to aid applicants in making informed decisions about their chosen programs.
For enrollment in any program, interested applicants can access the admission portal of the university at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs and https://iop.ignouonline.ac.in/ for Online Programs (OL) programs. Additionally, the last date for re-registration for IGNOU learners is 29th January 2024, ensuring continued participation and progress for existing students.
