Col Mahan Singh (Retd), Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) Kathua, undertook a significant visit to the remote and isolated village of Sanki in the Basohli Block of District Kathua. The purpose of the visit was to engage with the residents and assess the ongoing work on the approach road to Village Sanki, which has been cut off from the mainstream since the establishment of the Ranjit Sagar Dam reservoir nearly three decades ago.
During his visit, Col Mahan Singh interacted with the villagers, gaining valuable insights into their challenges and needs. He personally inspected the progress of the approach road project, a crucial initiative aimed at reconnecting Sanki to the broader infrastructure network.
The DDC Chairman was accompanied by Capt Harnam Singh, local veteran residents like Badri Nath Badu, Chain Singh Billawaria, Roop Chand Gusain and others.
Addressing the gathered community members, Col Mahan highlighted various government schemes and lauded the development projects undertaken by the Modi Government. He expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive development unfolding in the region, emphasizing the positive impact of ongoing and completed projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
The DDC Chairman acknowledged the significance of all-round development, underscoring the commitment of the government to uplift the remote areas and bridge the gaps that have persisted for decades. He pledged continued efforts to ensure that isolated regions like Sanki witness sustained progress and connectivity.
The DDC Chairman asserted that Modi led BJP Government at the Centre and U.T Administration in Jammu and Kashmir is committed for the welfare and well-being of rural areas. He reiterated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government’s commitment for the overall development and upliftment of far flung and rural areas. He highlighted the achievements of the Union Govt he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken utmost care of the common people especially those living in far flung areas.
