Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit and Vande Bharat Social News Channel today launched a joint campaign against the sale of liquor near educational institutions and religious places in Jammu.
This campaign was started in a very busy prade chowk near Parade Girls College , special talks were held with the college students, nearby shopkeepers and common people regarding the liquor shops opened near Parade Girls College and Shiv Mandir , their opinions and anger were broadcasted with the help of a social media news channel.
Shiv Sena state chief Manish Sahni said that people have expressed deep anger over the liquor shops opened near the college and Temple. 100 percent of the people who interacted with him believed that these shops should be closed or shifted with immediate effect.
Sahni said that Jammu and Kashmir is the land of sages, saints and prophets, where the world famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and the holy Amarnath temple. Jammu city was called the city of temples, which has today been converted into a city of liquor.
Sahni said that such shops have been identified in areas like Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur etc. and with the help of Social News Channel, the opinions of the people around these shops will be captured on camera every second day.
He said that this campaign will prove to be a step towards prohibition of liquor in Jammu and Kashmir.
