Dogra Higher Secondary School celebrates Lohri Festival

Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar Jammu celebrated Lohri Festival on 12th of January 2024 with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm under the supervision of Managing Director of the School, Advocate Kr. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
The Chairman of the School, Th. Gulchain Singh Charak congratulated the staff and students of DHSS, and showered his blessings on every one present with the hope that the New year would bring happiness and success in the life of the students and teachers as well.
The auspicious festival was celebrated by staff with traditional touch by lighting a bonfire and offering peanuts, popcorn, jiggery and other things to the scared fire while walking around it. Everyone present was beautifully attired and sang melodious songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab.
Managing Director Kunwar Gambhir Dev Singh Charak congratulated every one and also greeted with best wishes for the New Year.
The Principal of the School, Devinder Kour also emphasized that Lohri Festival prompts people to be thankful for God’s Provision and also encouraged teachers to play a vital role to keep the tradition and culture alive in our festivities.
Ganesh Dass, Headmaster of the school also spoke on the occasion and said that our festivals are the binding factors that link all religions and regions of the country, redefining their unity and secularity in the modern age.
The function ended with the distribution of sweets among all.
