CUJ Commemorates National Youth Day with Enthusiasm, Inspiration

The Department of Educational Studies, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students Welfare, Central University of Jammu, celebrated the Yuva Shakti Mahotsav on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda also the National Youth Day. Under the Yuva Shakti Mahotsav, various cultural and literary activities such as debate, dance, song, fashion show, food stalls, etc. will be conducted in the coming weeks of January.
The event was inaugurated ‘Deep Prajwalan’ followed by the address of Registrar Prof. Yashwant Singh who delved into the profound influence of Swami Vivekananda in shaping the aspirations and values of Indian youth. He eloquently highlighted Vivekananda’s teachings and his timeless relevance in inspiring young minds towards self-realization and societal contribution.
Dr. Kiran, Co-ordinator of the event, gave a brief introduction about the entire activities to be held during the Yuva Shakti Mahotsav and thanked Prof. Ritu Bakshi, DSW, for her kind support in organizing this grand event.
Professor J. N. Baliya, by referring to one of the ancient Sanskrit aphorisms “Buddhirgyanain Shudyati,” appealed to the youth that they can achieve the goal with the help of transforming the power of knowledge and purifying wisdom. Through a thoughtful exploration of this magical phrase, Prof. Baliya asserted the intrinsic connection between intellectual pursuit and the refinement of one’s understanding. In his compelling address, Head of the Department, Prof. Asit Mantry enlightened the significance of the day on its multiple importance for the nation as well as the department. Prof. Mantry underscored how this day symbolizes more than just a national celebration but also represents a collective journey toward unity, progress, and shared aspirations. He also acknowledged the support of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain for providing opportunities to celebrate such events so that the students can develop their all-around personalities with Bhartiya Values.
The event proceeded with great enthusiasm among students who performed various cultural activities like dancing, singing, and organizing a skit on the life of Vivekananda. The gathering also marked the presence of faculty members Dr. Neerendra, Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. S. Mishra, Dr. Bijendra, Dr. Deepti Malhotra, Dr. Arvind Selwal, Dr. Aman, Dr. Ravi Vanguri, Dr. Mohan, Dr Aarushi, Shivali, Dr. Anil, other faculty members, scholars and students witnessed the grand event. The event ended with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Yad Ram and Halwa Prasaad.
