BJP felicitated world championship Medalists of 10th Strength Lifting and Inclined Bench Press World Championship and their coaches at BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Ashok Koul, General Secretary (organization), J&K BJP, Kavinder Gupta, former Dy. CM, Yudhvir Sethi, Vice President BJP, along with Braham Jyot Satti, Prabhari BJP OBC Morcha and Dr Pardeep Mahotra, J&K BJP Media in-charge felicitated the medalists on the occasion.
The Strength Lifting world championship was held at Hyderabad recently in which Anil Kumar (95+ weight category) and Manpreet Singh (107+ weight category) won bronze medals and laurels to the state.
Anil Kumar, Manpreet Singh, Choudhary Sunil Singh (President Strength Lifting Federation), Ajay Sharma (General Secretary), Umesh Sharma (Joint Secretary) other senior players of Power/Strength Lifting Championship were felicitated on the occasion.
Both medal winning athletes are serving in JKP and brought laurels to our nation by clinching medals at international event.
Ashok Koul, speaking on the occasion, congratulated Anil Kumar, Manpreet Singh and their coaches for this big achievement and wished them all for a bright and better future ahead. He said in the past ten years under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi the sports scenario in India has been totally transformed and sports have achieved new heights.
He said today India has the maximum number of medals in Olympics, Asian Games etc and our para-athletes are also shining in their respective sport disciplines and making us proud .
Koul said in Jammu Kashmir also, the government has launched various schemes like Khelo India, PMDP etc for search of talented athletes and providing job opportunities to senior players and past champions. He appreciated the whole sports fraternity and DGP, ADGP, Sports Officer (JKP) for this achievement and said that this is a proud moment for all Jammuites that our athletes are representing India at international levels and clinching medals.
Kavinder Gupta said our PM Narendra Modi is also a sports loving person. Modi ji is also organizing felicitation ceremonies for meritorious sports persons. He is providing sports facilities in urban as well as remote areas across the nation and as a result India is shining in the field of sports and even talent of Jammu Kashmir is excelling at International/National events. He congratulated all medalists and said when an athlete shines and becomes successful, it is the result of hardwork of that athlete, JK Strength Lifting Federation members (Ajay Sharma, Umesh Sharma) and coaches.
Yudhvir Sethi appreciated all sports achievers and said they are our pride because they highlighted the name of Jammu Kashmir globally because of their commendable performances at international and national events.
He said our dynamic PM Narendra Modi is working a lot in the field of sports and construction work of many sports Stadiums is going on and very soon these stadiums will be handed over to coaches and their trainees very soon.
Braham Jyot, who organized and conducted the proceedings of the program, thanked all the dignitaries for their valuable wishes and said that the BJP always stands with our sports pillars and if any sportsperson needs any kind of help he/she can contact us any time.
Dr. Pardeep urged all the students and youth to join sports and make a career in sports as it will make them physically and mentally strong and he wished all medal winners for a bright and better future ahead.
