kathua, Dec 25
Colonel Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua, visited the Pathiara Panchayat in Basohli to address the concerns of local youth and residents.
The ongoing construction of stadium in Pathiara village, was initiated in 2016, faced delays due to the pandemic. However, a commendable development transpired as the government recently sanctioned Rs 80 lakh for the project. This funding will facilitate the creation of stadium boundaries and a synthetic volleyball ground.
During his visit, Col Mahan interacted with the community, listening to their grievances. The primary issue raised was the obstruction caused by the stadium’s construction to the Pathiara Plakh road, affecting around 30 families who rely on this route to reach their homes. He contacted relevant authorities, including ADC Basohli and XEN Sports Council, to address this concern and ensure the timely relocation of the stadium boundaries. Furthermore, Col Mahan highlighted the achievements accomplished in the past 2.5 years through the collaborative efforts of the three-tier system, emphasizing the pivotal roles played by DDC, BDC, and Sarpanch. To enhance the utility of the stadium and better connect the region, Col Mahan Singh pledged to improve the overall accessibility of Pathiara by establishing bridges that connect Pathiara with GDC Basohli, Batada Basohli, and Plakh to Basohli Granole Nala.
The visit underscores Col Mahan Singh’s commitment to community welfare, efficient problem-solving, and the development of infrastructure to uplift the lives of the residents in Pathiara (Plahi Panchayat). The sanctioned funds and proposed connectivity initiatives reflect a proactive approach toward fostering progress and prosperity in the region.
DDC Chairman was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Basohli Sushma Jamwal, Sarpanch Poli Devi, Subedar Yubkaran and others.
