On the 99th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Hindu nationalist BJP leader Guruji Raju Chandel, while offering floral tributes at Vajpayee’s Samadhi, urged the citizens of India to nurture their children with values akin to those of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lord Krishna, and Lord Rama, and to contribute to building a robust India.
Chandel expressed his views on preserving Indian culture and traditions, especially in the context of Christmas celebrations.
He advised against dressing children as Santa Claus, which he deemed as an insult to Indian culture and a promotion of Western traditions.
“Such actions are a disservice to our rich Indian heritage and promote Western culture, which is not in line with our country’s traditions,” said Chandel.
“Our Indian culture involves making our children aware of the Sanatan Dharma, not following Western culture, which could be harmful to our nation’s future,” he added.
On this day, Chandel suggested that if parents wish to dress their children, they should choose attire representing Lord Krishna or Lord Rama, thereby instilling in them the values and teachings of these deities and former Prime Minister Atal Ji. “By doing this, we will strengthen our children’s understanding of Sanatan Dharma, thereby fortifying India and advancing our nation,” he stated.
Chandel emphasized that dressing up as clowns or encouraging Western practices disrespects Indian culture and promotes Western values in children. “Our nation will progress only when we embed Indian culture and the philosophies of India’s great personalities in our children,” he concluded.
