Booth Jan Samvad: Col Mahan addresses public grievances in Salan, Bhoond Block

In a remarkable initiative to connect with the grassroots, Colonel Mahan Singh (Retd), the esteemed Chairman of the District Development Council (DDC) in Kathua, spearheaded the Booth Jan Samvad cum Public Grievances Redressal Meeting in the remote village of Salan.
Accompanied by Captain Harnam Singh, a senior functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sarpanch Madhu Bala, Naib Sarpanch Soni Mohd, and officials from various departments, Col Mahan Singh undertook a heartfelt journey on foot from the road head at Khajura to reach Salan. The village welcomed him with resounding cheers, drumbeats, garlands, and fervent nationalist slogans.
During the event, the villagers brought forward pressing issues such as the lack of road connectivity, shortage of drinking water, inflated electricity bills, and concerns related to old-age pension.
Colonel Mahan Singh attentively listened to their grievances and assured them of a prompt resolution to their genuine problems. In his address, DDC Chairman Mahan Singh commended the government schemes under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and highlighted the significant developments in rural infrastructure, particularly after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. Expressing solidarity with the impoverished villagers who had been deprived of basic necessities until recently, Col Mahan Singh pledged his commitment to addressing their concerns. The event also provided an opportunity for the DDC Chairman to interact with beneficiaries of various central schemes, reinforcing the government’s dedication to uplifting the lives of citizens in the region.
